On the 5th of November, 2012, Google confirmed the 21st Panda Update. According to Google, the update will affect 0.4 per cent of queries and 1.1 per cent for English searches in United States.
In other news, Google has changed its SERP layout to make it simpler and cleaner and to create a consistent search experience across many devices. The new layout is available to Google.com users in the United States and will soon roll out to other regions. The changes will go unnoticed by tablet users who have been using it since 2011.
Search Engine Land reports that Google keeps losing market share in China. The reports puts Google on fourth on the list of China’s online search market. In first position is Baidu followed by Qihoo 360; Sogou is in third position.
A headline on Search Engine Watch states that Google is too slow when it comes to deranking pirate websites. A few months back, Google announced an update to its search ranking algorithm that would delist sites with pirated content. The Department of Culture, Media and Sport would like to see Google making quicker progress.
